While visiting the city of Boston the group will want to stop by the Freedom Trail. There are plenty of learning opportunities for students of all ages to experience. There are several fascinating tours that are offered where the group can take in various famous historical landmarks. The trail contains brick stones which are marked with a red line. The trail was established in the 1950s.
The tours of the trail are both educational and entertaining. There are a total of 16 historical sites. These tours are 90 minutes long and cover 11 out of the 16 sites. The staff will tailor your student group tour in order to fit your needs. One of the tours is known as the Walk into History Tour. During the program, the students will be led by an 18thcentury costumed guide. The student group will depart from the Boston Common Visitor Information Center. The guide will tell tales about the American Revolution that will be fun for the students. The group can also take part in hands-on activities.
The Pirates & Patriots Tour is one where the students will learn about the men and women pirates that had an impact on forming the nation. The group will walk to the wharf and hear tales about people such as John Hancock and William Fly. Students will visit buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries.
The African-American Patriots Tour is a program where the student group will learn about influential African Americans. You will listen to stories and poetry from these well-known individuals. For instance, one of the people included was Crispus Attucks. You will also hear tales about Peter Salem, Phillis Wheately and Prince Hall. The costumed guide will discuss the American Revolution as well as other interesting historical events.
