While your student group is in the Los Angeles area, you should consider visiting the TCL Chinese Theatre which was formerly known as Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Guests can also view a film at the IMAX Theatre and shop for souvenirs. Grauman’s Chinese Theatre was opened on May 18, 1927. The event was the most iconic Theatre opening in motion picture history. The location was opened to the public the next day.
In the course of the visit, the pupils will learn about the history of the TCL Chinese Theatre from the early days to the present. You will also have the opportunity to listen to stories and learn interesting facts pertaining to the theatre’s Hollywood premieres and it’s Forecourt of the stars. Students of all ages will enjoy this educational experience.
The student group should check out the variety of gifts and souvenirs. You can buy mugs, plates, statuettes, key chains, magnets, frames, and tiles/coasters. The pupils can also make their own cement prints to take home as a souvenir. You can choose from four different mugs which include the nighttime Chinese Theatre mug, the daytime Chinese Theatre mug, the Walk of Fame mug, and the Los Angeles White mug. The team can check out seven key chains which include the Hollywood tile key chain, the Oscar key chain, the Yellow Prints key chain, the Yellow Chinese Theatre key chain and the Gold Chinese Theatre key chain. The TCL Chinese Theatre has an IMAX theater that shows various films. The pupils will have an immersive cinematic experience. The theater has cutting edge sound technology and a screen that curves from floor to ceiling. It can seat up to 932 people at a time.
