Luray Caverns

While your student group is visiting Virginia Beach you may want to explore Luray Caverns. Students of all ages will enjoy this unique experience. Your group can explore the Car and Carriage Museum, the Luray Valley Museum, and the Garden Maze. Students will also be entertained at the Rope Adventure Park. The Luray Valley Museum contains several interesting structures. For example, you will find the Bell House, Burner Barn, and the Stoneyman Building. The Bell House is a log house that was built by Reuben Bell at Kimball Springs located near Luray. Reuben Bell served in the House of Delegates from 1859-1860. The Stoneyman building is the main museum building and displays nearly 300 years of Shenandoah Valley artifacts. The students will walk through the chronological history from the 1750s to the 1920s. The Car and Carriage Museum has some fascinating old vehicles. For example, students will have the opportunity to take in the sight of an 1892 Mercedes Benz. You will also see a 1910 Buick, and a 1925 Rolls-Royce. Luray Caverns also contains a Toy Town Junction where the group will find a fascinating collection of unique toys and other collectables. One of the exhibits is called The Circus is in Town which has circus miniatures, dolls, and other interesting toy collectables. Another exhibit is called All Aboard where the students will find a collection of 30 individual trains including the first one built in 1941. During your visit, the students can be entertained at the Rope Adventure Park. The group will have the choice to climb three rope courses. For example, you can climb the High Ropes Course where you will be pushed to the limit. Another course is the Little Adventurer for those who want to stay close to the ground.
