Three Day Hiking, Mining and Dinosaurs

Hike and explore some of Colorado's most scenic areas, explore the gold mines, and discover dinosaur bones on this fun and educational three day tour.


Day 1
  • Laser Quest
    A must do for your group is this 21st century combination of tag and hide-and-seek with live action laser tag.
  • Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
    America's only mountain zoo is situated in a picturesque mountain setting. Enjoy the African Rift Valley exhibit, which will bring you as close to Africa as you can get without a passport. See more than 500 animals representing 146 different species from around the world, 50 of which are endangered.
  • Seven Falls
    Called "The grandest mile of scenery in Colorado", the falls are ablaze with lights every night from May to Labor Day. Watch authentic Native American dancers and feed rainbow trout. You can ride the mountain elevator to Eagles' Nest for a spectacular view of the falls or hike the nature trail to Midnight Falls.

Day 2
  • Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad
    Enjoy a scenic, 4 mile round-trip into yesteryear.
  • Cripple Creek District Museum
    Right next to the train station you will see a variety of exhibits unique to the mining history of the area that was once the site of the world's greatest gold camp.
  • Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine
    Your group will descend 1,000 feet into the gold mine. There are many old mines and ghost towns in the vicinity.

Day 3
  • Music in Colorado SpringsPikes Peak Heritage Center
    Learn about gold mining yesterday and today, geologic and human history, view displays that showcase the unique mountain environment, and learn about regional recreational activities and attractions.
  • Florissant Fossil Beds
    Hike in mountain meadows amongst ancient, petrified stumps of giant sequoias and see the delicate remains of flora and fauna trapped in gray shale.
  • Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center
    See REAL fossils being prepared in the laboratory, hear experts in the field give guest presentations and see interactive exhibits and videos of actual dinosaur dig sites.
