Washington DC Presidential Inauguration

During this 4 day trip, witness history being made as you visit our nation's capital and view the Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama! Space is limited and time is running out so reserve your spot before it is too late!

 


Day 1
  • Mount Vernon
    • Take a guided tour of the Mansion house and more than a dozen outbuildings including the slave quarters, kitchen, stables, and greenhouse. The Slave Memorial and Burial Ground is nearby and George and Martha Washington rest in peace in the tomb where wreathlaying ceremonies are held daily.
  • Madame Tussauds
    • This premier wax attraction gives your group an interactive, full-sensory experience; you will be able to touch, see and hear major historical events and celebrities in a way unlike any other Washington D.C. attraction.

Day 2
  • Arlington National Cemetery
    • Honoring those men and women who served in the Armed Forces, currently, there are over 260,000 people buried including veterans from all the nation's wars, as well as presidents, chief justices, and astronauts. Approximately four million people visit some of the more popular sites in Arlington including the Tomb of the Unknowns and the grave of former President John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
  • National Museum of American History
    • A favorite for groups, displays include dinosaur skeletons, an enormous collection of natural gems and minerals, artifacts of early man, an insect zoo, a live coral reef and much more.
  • White House Photo Opportunity
    • Your guide will show you the perfect spot to snap a picture or two of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
  • National Archives
    • The Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom is the permanent home of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution of the United States, and Bill of Rights. See this and other exhibits that make up our Nation's treasures.
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial
    • This is a memorial not only to FDR, but also to the era he represents. The memorial traces twelve years of American History through a sequence of four outdoor rooms devoted to each of FDR's terms of office.
  • Jefferson Memorial
    • The words of Thomas Jefferson have shaped American ideals. Today, many of these impressive, stirring words adorn the interior walls of his memorial standing as a symbol of liberty and enduring as a site for reflection and inspiration
  • Illuminations Monuments and Memorials Tour
    • Check out famous Monuments and Memorials at night when they are all lit up and perfect for picture taking. Your tour will include sites such as: the Air Force Memorial, The Marine Corps War Memorial and more!
  • Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
    • Your groups' tour will feature the Hall of States and Hall of Nations, the Center's main theaters, and you will have time to explore the paintings, sculptures, and other artworks throughout the center.

Day 3
  • Presidential Inauguration
    • Your guide will help you choose the best spot to watch history being made at the 2009 Inauguration
  • Inaugural Parade
    • Dating back to the very first Inauguration, when George Washington took the oath of office, the Inaugural parade is a much anticipated event for millions of Americans. You will get to see it in person!
  • Student Inaugural Ball
    • It is time to dress up and spend the night at your very own Inaugural ball in the hotel's ballroom including a lavish buffet.

Day 4
  • Newseum
    • A high-tech and interactive museum tracing the history of news reporting from the 16th century to the present day. Your group will see 15 theaters, 14 major galleries, two state-of-the-art broadcast studios and a 4-D time-travel experience.
  • Capitol Building
    • The U. S. Capitol Building, the meeting chambers for the Senate and the House of Representatives, is one of the most recognizable historic buildings in Washington, DC. It is a prominent landmark and an impressive architectural structure
  • Library of Congress
    • The Library of Congress in Washington, DC, is the world's largest library containing more than 128 million items including books, manuscripts, films, photographs, sheet music and maps. Your group can explore the library and navigate books through page-turning technology and learn how America's greatest thinkers were inspired.
  • Supreme Court Building
    • The U. S. Supreme Court has the highest judicial authority in the United States. The U. S. Supreme Court Building was originally located in the Capitol Building in Washington, DC. The current U. S. Supreme Court Building was constructed in 1935 and built to match the architectural style of the nearby congressional buildings.
