If you are looking for something scary and entertaining during your visit to Gettysburg, your students can take a ghost tour offered by Ghostly Images. There are walking tours and bus ghost tour options available. Students of all ages will enjoy this interesting experience. One of the options available is known as the Haunted Orphanage Tour. During the experience, the student group will tour the original orphanage. You will walk down the original wooden stairs to the dungeon where a headmistress chained children to the stone walls. The guide will tell stories about other cruel treatments inflicted upon them. There are lingering spirits that haunt the dungeon and the rest of the building. The group will also be taken on a short walk by the guide around the neighborhood as part of the adventure. Another tour option is known as the Jennie Wade Tour. The group will take a journey around the south side of town which is known as the East Cemetery Hill area. The guide will tell curious tales of ghostly soldiers, heartbroken women, Poltergeists, and other ghostly encounters. The students will also enter through the same door where a bullet passed on July 3, 1863, and killed Jennie Wade who was the only civilian to die during the battle of Gettysburg. If you would like to take a bus tour, Ghostly Images has one for your group to enjoy. During the encounter, the students will have the opportunity to see a variety of sites and hear interesting tales of the spirits who still lurk in the shadows. The tour is one hour and 45 minutes in length. Your group will enjoy the scary stories and ride through the countryside.
