During your student group trip to Virginia Beach you may want to take a Ghost Walk where you will be scared to the core! There are a variety of programs for your group to explore on this adventure: you will learn about interesting history and of the spirits who still haunt the beach today. History Haunts offers programs that can be adapted for your student group experience. One of the options is known as Ghost Stories where the students will hear legends about the modern Virginia Beach Resort. For example, you may hear about the disturbance of a Native American burial ground by a construction crew, the witch of Pungo’s curse, and the crying baby that was heard after a tragic shipwreck. Students of all ages will enjoy this storytelling program. Another program is called The Life of a Pirate. During the presentation, the students will learn about the golden age of piracy which took place from 1680 to 1730. You will learn about subjects such as local pirates, superstitions, weapons, tactics, economy, food, and clothing. The program is one hour in length and is for students of all ages. There is also a presentation known as The Life of a Soldier. During the program, the students will learn about what life was like during the Civil War for soldiers and their families back home. For example, they will hear about subjects such as the games, food, clothing, customs, and medicine that was common during that particular time period. The presentation is one hour long and is engaging for all participants!
